Quick Review and Rating

Quick Review

You know tag games or... Capture the Flag? Well, the concept is the same. Here you play as Mr. Chickums, tasked with collecting eggs stolen by the villain — Grabbo. In each round/area, your job is to gather the eggs, throw/place them into the basket, run from or defeat enemies, and that's it.

Quick Rating

Category & Rating Details Score
1. Mechanics & Gameplay

The game's mechanics are straightforward. The controls only require walking, jumping, throwing eggs, stomping enemies, and collecting a few items. The only downside is that it can feel a bit... slippery at times. Which can make it a little tricky to control...

The game loop is also short, and there's a timer per round/area, so it never drags on. The game isn't hard either. Challenging, but not frustratingly so — more like challenging but still do-able.

9.3
2. Visuals & Aesthetics

They use a cartoony art style and... pixel graphics? Honestly not entirely sure about the pixel graphics, but it does look that way... Or maybe it's the CRT effect... Anyway, the art style is modeled after classic arcade or retro console games. The UI and UX are also clean, consistent, and easy to read. Optimization is solid too. The game runs well and smoothly, and is very lightweight. It should run great on low-spec devices as well.

10
3. Story & World

Honestly the intro is really short 🤣 If I hadn't read the Steam page, I wouldn't even have remembered there's a character named Grabbo who stole Mr. Chickums's eggs 🤣

But yeah, that's roughly the gist. The game revolves around the character Mr. Chickums, who you'll be playing as. Your job is to collect all the eggs Grabbo has stolen across each area. That's it. The pacing per area is also neither too fast nor too slow. There's a timer, but the duration feels just right.

9
4. Audio & Music

Since it seems like the developer's goal was to make a game that resembles classic arcade/console games, they also went with audio that fits — kind of 8-bit in style. So the music and SFX are tuned accordingly, like you're playing games on an old arcade machine or retro console.

One thing that's a bit... confusing? Sometimes the music feels too quiet, and other times too loud. Not sure why...

9
5. Replayability & Value

The game has high replayability, since the areas feel dynamic — the eggs to collect appear at random locations — so you can keep collecting eggs multiple times within each area. So at a full price of 91K IDR — or 78K on sale — it feels fair. Not outrageously expensive, but not dirt cheap either.

10
TOTAL SCORE xx

Conclusion

Interesting. Especially if you're looking for short, casual games to kill some time, without taking up too much of it — competitive, challenging but still do-able, plus with a cartoony art style and that classic arcade/retro console vibe.

Quick Review and Rating

Quick Review

Actually, I had already played the demo 2 years ago and was intrigued. But back then I played it on a low-spec laptop, and unfortunately... yeah. It was heavy. Sadly, on the more capable PC I use now, the problem is more or less the same.

Quick Rating

Category & Rating Details Score
1. Mechanics & Gameplay

The mechanics are simple, fitting the game's tags. You just need to explore, sneak past enemies, kill them if you can — and if you want to — and collect a few items. There are puzzles too, but they don't feel too difficult. The controls are also fairly easy to grasp and not too complicated.

From a game loop perspective, it can't really be called short... After 10–20 minutes of exploring, you'll start to feel just how vast this game is going to be. Especially since you don't get a map until about 20 minutes in. And once you do get the map, you'll be even more amazed — it's absolutely massive.

But... this game might start to feel boring and like it's dragging on, given just how enormous the area to explore is...

9.3
2. Visuals & Aesthetics

The style used in this game is post-apocalyptic, metroidvania, sci-fi, and atmospheric. Very, very dark. So it feels eerie, and maybe even a little scary? But it can't quite be called horror, since there are no jump scares or ghost-type moments. It's just unsettling, because you have to navigate enemies lurking across various locations.

Unfortunately... When it comes to UI and UX... Hmm... The game is very minimalist. Not many settings, mostly looks like phone icons, and the menus can be a bit hard to parse at times. The map provided is also a sort of blank map that doesn't give the player much information.

On the topic of optimization... Hmm... I'm honestly a bit puzzled — why isn't there an option to cap the FPS for a more stable experience?

8
3. Story & World

Hmm... Not much story is delivered explicitly in this game. There are a lot of implied undertones though.

My take is... The story and world in this game, as I described above, place us in a world after an apocalyptic event — everything is monitored, and if you resist, you get crushed. So you'll explore this vast world in order to... break free. That's my read, and maybe that's how it ends...

9
4. Audio & Music

The audio and music in this game feel just right. The eerie, unsettling atmosphere really comes through... The SFX when fighting enemies also sounds crisp and satisfying, making it feel like you're genuinely inside the game world.

10
5. Replayability & Value

Hmm... I think this is the type of game that should be played through once and finished. Not necessarily in one sitting, but probably doesn't need to be replayed just to find all the areas/items.

At a full price of 166K IDR, and 133K IDR on sale, for the amount of content offered, it feels fair. Not too cheap, and not too expensive. Time to dive in!

10
TOTAL SCORE xx

Conclusion

Interesting, if you're looking for eerie, platformer-based games with metroidvania, sci-fi, and post-apocalyptic themes, but not too difficult to play. I also mentioned LIMBO while playing this on stream, because the atmosphere felt very similar to LIMBO.

Quick Review and Rating

Quick Review

Now this one — is a simple, beautiful, and anything-but-ordinary puzzle game.

Quick Rating

Category & Rating Details Score
1. Mechanics & Gameplay

The mechanics are simple — just mouse and keyboard, and mostly mouse to complete the game's core mechanic. You just need to mark specific tiles — colors will automatically appear, or you can change them manually — then match them to the shape or requirements of each puzzle.

The game loop is also short, and there are various difficulty levels for each puzzle. From easy all the way to challenging. So no need to worry about whether the game will be too hard for you or not.

10
2. Visuals & Aesthetics

Hmm, what art style do they use... Surreal for the outdoor areas, and... not sure. Colorful for the puzzles? But everything looks beautiful, so I love it. The UI and UX are also clearly visible and easy to read. The default font is quite... small, but still legible. There's a Larger Text option, though I didn't try it during my playthrough... The game is also well optimized. There's a slight stutter or hiccup when transitioning from the menu into the game world, but it's nothing too demanding.

9.5
3. Story & World

Hmm... There's a short intro at the start — a letter of sorts addressed to us as the Artisan. We're simply asked to restore artworks from Glimmith. That's really all there is to the story. No heavy themes, no long preamble — straight to the puzzles. After that, you're free to complete each puzzle however you like.

In terms of pacing, the game isn't too long or too short. It all depends on how long you take to complete each puzzle. There's also an option to check your answer from time to time, so you won't be left wondering whether what you're doing is right or not... Unlike life... where sometimes you just don't know whether you're taking the right steps or making the right choices...

9
4. Audio & Music

The music feels just right... The audio too. Neither gets in the way while playing, and both support the experience of playing the game.

10
5. Replayability & Value

Replayability is, in my opinion, "high." You can replay the puzzles even after you've finished them, and there are a massive number of puzzles offered in this game. At a full price of 115K IDR, or 104K IDR on sale, it feels fair. Not expensive, and not too cheap for the content on offer.

10
TOTAL SCORE xx

Conclusion

Highly interesting. Especially if you're looking for casual puzzle games that are easy on the eyes, not too difficult to play, and can be completed in a short sitting without needing multiple sessions just to finish a puzzle.

Quick Review and Rating

Quick Review

A year ago, I played the demo of this game, and... Even though it was brief, it felt pretty interesting. So would the full version be just as fun?

Quick Rating

Category & Rating Details Score
1. Mechanics & Gameplay

The mechanics are straightforward. Move the claw, grab the items. You can play with a keyboard or gamepad. Not hard at all, though it might be a little confusing at first to figure out what to click or press to control the game.

The game loop is short, and there's a timer per round. The game also has three difficulty levels — Easy (lower costs), Normal, and Hard (shorter timer). But... in my opinion, even on Easy this game is still pretty tough. The entry cost to play one full session — five rounds — is expensive. The value of items you collect in one run is fairly low, and even after upgrading various options each round, the money still never seems to be enough. So it feels a bit... imbalanced.

8
2. Visuals & Aesthetics

The art style used in this game is pixel graphics. From a UI and UX standpoint, everything is clearly readable, so nothing is confusing while playing. The optimization is also fine, so it should run smoothly even on low-spec devices...

The only downside is... There are some items I don't fully understand the purpose of, and whether picking them up would actually benefit me as a player or not.

9.3
3. Story & World

The intro is short, but... it does a decent job of explaining why we need to play this Cupiclaw machine — which wasn't present in the demo. Long story short, Morris — the character we play as — lost his engagement ring somewhere near this Cupiclaw machine. Then the Manager shows up and tells him that if he needs the ring, it's on the top floor of this arcade. So to get up there, you have to play and win each round. That's all there is to it.

In terms of pacing, it's neither too long nor too short. Easy mode seems to allow about four to five pulls, so it feels about right.

9
4. Audio & Music

The audio and music are fine, nothing is distracting, and they support the experience of playing the game.

9
5. Replayability & Value

Replayability is definitely high. Very much so. But... personally, I don't have the stamina for heavy grinding, especially since this game has no options to upgrade anything from the main menu. So true to its Roguelike tag, if you die... you die. Nothing carries over to the menu for upgrades. Which makes it... a bit frustrating and discouraging to want to play again. There's also a Roguelite tag, but... I'm not sure that's accurate. Since there's nothing to carry back to the menu to upgrade, it might be a mislabeling.

As for the price... 91K IDR at full price, and 82K IDR on sale. It's hard to call it expensive or super cheap. It feels fair, even if I'm not sure how much content there actually is...

8.5
TOTAL SCORE xx

Conclusion

Decent enough, if you're looking for a casual game you can finish quickly without overthinking — though strategy is still required. But... it might not be for everyone, since this game demands a good deal of luck and solid strategy to reach the top floor...

Quick Review and Rating

Quick Review

You know Vampire Survivors or HoloCure - Save the Fans!? This is a game in the same genre, except it's seasoned with a coding and hacking twist — so you actually have to use your logic.

Quick Rating

Category & Rating Details Score
1. Mechanics & Gameplay

The mechanics are simple — just walk and collect items: ByteCoins, Nodes, and so on. Everything you collect can be used to upgrade your abilities in the game — permanently too — so your experience will feel increasingly engaging.

The game loop isn't long, and each run can be wrapped up in a fairly short amount of time. As for difficulty... it can't really be called hard. I played through a few stages at the start and it didn't feel that challenging. Pretty easy, honestly. But... I'm not sure whether the difficulty ramps up significantly as the stages go higher...

10
2. Visuals & Aesthetics

They use a coding-inspired art style, and the "Fake OS" aesthetic is very much front and center.

Quick info about Fake OS and InterfaceX26.

Speaking of Fake OS, you can read more about an event called InterfaceX26. In short, there are many games that have launched with a fake OS as their visual interface. To make it cohesive, they organized an event so people could discover games sharing the same theme.

Since it uses a Fake OS interface, everything is designed to look like you're actually coding. There's documentation, nodes to connect, and so on. It genuinely feels like you're operating inside a different OS. Very clean and detailed too, and honestly a bit of a read to get through hahaha. But on the flip side, it makes it fun and gives you "freedom" to try any combination you want in each run.

From a UI and UX standpoint, everything is clearly readable, though there are a few icons I couldn't quite figure out the meaning of. Optimization runs smoothly as well, so even on low-spec devices, this game should run just fine...

9
3. Story & World

Hmm... There doesn't seem to be any real story. You just need to hack, which means you have to be clever about evading enemies. That's it...? Seems like it.

On the other hand, from a pacing perspective, it feels just right. Not too long, not too fast.

9
4. Audio & Music

The audio and music are fine. They support the experience of playing the game, though nothing particularly standout — but nothing distracting either.

9
5. Replayability & Value

Honestly I'm not sure whether completed areas can be replayed, but given the "worlds" or "areas" on offer and the sheer number of upgrades to work through, there should be a lot of content here.

Pricewise, 74K IDR at full price and 44K IDR on sale doesn't seem too steep for this kind of content. Fairly affordable, actually.

10
TOTAL SCORE xx

Conclusion

Highly interesting. Because where games in the same genre "only let you choose" upgrades per exp level-up, here you have the "freedom" to choose whatever build you want, making each run more exciting and helping you survive against the waves of enemies.

Quick Review and Rating

Quick Review

When I was about to request the key for this game, I was honestly a bit hesitant. Given that I'm fairly prone to motion sickness, and this game is also fast-paced and first-person... So... I had to sacrifice a few things to be able to play it...

Quick Rating

Category & Rating Details Score
1. Mechanics & Gameplay

The Steam page for this game lists the tags Boomer Shooter and Looter Shooter, but in my opinion, this game doesn't always rely on shooting to deal with enemies. Yep, you can use weapons to attack from a distance, but there's also melee for up-close combat. The looting element is still there as tagged though — you can loot items, weapons, blood, and the like in each run. One thing I can't quite figure out... Why do you need to collect coins?

Is the game boring? I don't think so. And if I recall correctly, the areas per run are dynamic, so you won't necessarily encounter the same enemies or areas each time.

The only issue is... Since I'm not very comfortable with the fast pace, I couldn't play for too long. Even with Head Bob turned off, my head started to ache around 30 minutes into playing.

The controls can also feel a bit... confusing at times? Like in the bedroom, I think I was stuck for a few minutes because it wasn't clear what needed to be done... Clicking this and that, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't...

7.7
2. Visuals & Aesthetics

This game uses a retro art style reminiscent of early 2000s handheld console games. From the menus to the game world, everything follows the same style. On the flip side, because of this aesthetic, the UI and UX are easy to read and distinguish, making all the information a player needs accessible at a glance. Optimization-wise, the game runs smoothly. The only stutter I noticed was once, right when the game first started, and it didn't last long — maybe about 10 seconds.

9.6
3. Story & World

Hmm, a bit unsure... But this is my read. The character in this game — a woman — is locked up in a psychiatric hospital, and at night, we fight monsters inside our nightmares. You have to survive, and if you lose, you wake back up in the real world, in your room. Even if you win, you can "keep" one weapon and then return to your room as well. Each run also has secrets you can find. There also seems to be some kind of ritual, but... I still don't fully understand what it's for...

In terms of pacing, one run is around 10 minutes, which doesn't feel too long at all. Just right for killing all the enemies, looting weapons, finding secrets, before heading back to the real world.

9
4. Audio & Music

The audio and music are fine. Nothing is distracting — the SFX when slashing enemies lands well, the music during intense enemy encounters is solid, and the quieter ambient music works just as well.

9
5. Replayability & Value

For replayability... I'm not sure. It feels like this game is linear. So you complete one area and move on to the next. That might mean replayability isn't particularly high.

As for the price... Full price is 207K IDR, and on sale it can drop to 83K IDR. The full price is quite steep, so if you're planning to buy, the discounted price is probably the way to go...

7.5
TOTAL SCORE xx

Conclusion

Pretty interesting. Might be a good fit if you're looking for a fast-paced looter shooter exploration game with retro graphics and a few secrets to uncover.

Quick Review and Rating

Quick Review

Hmm... This game reminds me of Crypt of the NecroDancer. At its core it's billed as rhythm-based, but... it might not be the best fit for people who think of rhythm games as something like Muse Dash?

Quick Rating

Category & Rating Details Score
1. Mechanics & Gameplay

It's actually not hard — you just need to walk, and in some corridors you can only go in one direction anyway, so no back-and-forth. But there are also a looooot of movement types that I honestly couldn't quite figure out how to use properly... The thing is...

It somehow feels complex, because even though it's labeled as rhythm, most of the time I couldn't tell whether my steps were in sync with the beat or not. The game has no audio cue to indicate whether you've hit the rhythm or missed it.

And from a game loop perspective... It's simple in concept, but feels unnecessarily complex. Not sure why. So a game that probably shouldn't be this difficult ends up feeling very hard. True to its Steam tag... Difficult...

5.7
2. Visuals & Aesthetics

They use a cyberpunk style in this game — that modern aesthetic kind of vibe. So the UI, UX, graphics, everything follows the same theme. Optimization-wise it's fine too — runs well and isn't demanding. The only issue... There was a bug at the end of one of the early levels, and I had to go back to the main menu just to redo it... And that was still in the tutorial...

8.5
3. Story & World

Honestly I don't remember there being much of a story... So I can't comment much further. But in terms of pacing, it's not actually that long. It's just that because it's unnecessarily complex as I mentioned, it ends up feeling like it drags on forever.

8
4. Audio & Music

The music and SFX are fine on their own. Nothing distracting, and they support the experience. The only issue is that right when you launch the game, you can't do anything until you reach the settings page, and the audio is extremely loud...

There's one thing that's a genuine "minus" for me. The AI companion — the robot sidekick? It's SO LOUD. Like it can't stop talking, can't stop cutting into conversations or gameplay.

"Boss? This one."
"Boss? That one."
"Good job Boss!"
"Aww, what a shame Boss..."
"If you do this, you can do that, Boss..."
My goodness... It just never stops...

6.7
5. Replayability & Value

Hmm, I'm not sure about replayability, since you progress through one level to the next. The price is 165K IDR at full price, and 140K IDR on sale. That's... quite expensive. So... maybe worth a try, if you want to — at the discounted price.

7.5
TOTAL SCORE xx

Conclusion

Hmm... Worth a try if you want. But this one will be tough, and you might need to be very patient to get through just one area...

Quick Review

About a year ago, I played the demo of this game, and it felt "solid." So even without having the key yet, it seemed like it was going to be a good game... So when I looked at the Steam page and saw that the All Reviews were Mixed... I was a bit puzzled. Why?

Quick Rating

Category & Rating Details Score
1. Mechanics & Gameplay

The mechanics are straightforward. Since the genre is point and click and 3D, you just need to click-click-click-click for interactions, moving around, and so on. Not hard. If you're familiar with Amerzone: The Explorer's Legacy (1999) or its remake, Amerzone - The Explorer's Legacy, the concept is exactly the same. So you really mostly just need the mouse to control the game.

Is it hard to understand? No. There are just a few puzzles that can be a bit tricky to wrap your head around, like "transmitting electricity wirelessly." I personally had to repeat that one a few times before I got it — "Oh, I need to aim it this way..."

9.6
2. Visuals & Aesthetics

They use a realistic art style, so everything looks "real" and authentic. During cutscenes, there are also 3D models of Tesla and several other characters in the game. The UI and UX take on a more modern design. Despite that, everything is still clearly readable without any issues.

10
3. Story & World

I've only played about an hour, so I can't give a full breakdown yet. But from what I've seen, the story centers on Tesla, his desire to "transmit electricity wirelessly," his conflict with J. P. Morgan, and... that's as far as I've gotten. Ehe. So far the story is easy to follow, so it stays engaging.

10
4. Audio & Music

The audio and music are fine... They support the experience of playing the game, keeping it enjoyable as you work through the puzzles. Certain cutscenes and sections also feature voice acting to narrate the story, which makes it all the more engaging to play.

10
5. Replayability & Value

This is the type of game that's best played through once, without the need to replay. And honestly, I think that's the right call. I don't recall there being any collectibles or secrets to hunt for, so there's nothing that would necessitate a repeat playthrough. The story also seems to be linear with no branching paths...

As for the price... Full price is 250K IDR, and the discounted price is 188K IDR. A bit pricey. Ehe. So it might be worth waiting for a sale...

8.5
TOTAL SCORE xx

Conclusion

Interesting, if you enjoy point and click, investigative, mystery, and narrative genres. Plus you'll be treated to 3D graphics, voice acting to narrate the story, and writing that's short but easy to follow.

I'd seen the trailer for this game pop up on Twitter a few times. But lately, with financial stress weighing on my mind... a lot of free time has been going toward sleep, so I hadn't gotten around to playing many demos, including this one. Fortunately I received the full version, so I got to play it on stream, which gives clearer audience numbers... Plus my audience was surprisingly active in giving hints about what to combine during the stream, which made it even more fun... And very helpful, since I had no idea what combinations were right...

1. Mechanics & Gameplay

The mechanics are simple. You just use the mouse to click-hold-click-hold-click on things in the game. You click items to activate them, or bring objects to certain locations for them to be useful, and so on. But it's not hard to understand or play at all.

The game loop is also short — one round takes roughly 20–25 minutes, depending on how quickly you can combine items, complete the to-do list, and so on. There's no timer, so you can take as long as you like to finish each level.

10
2. Visuals & Aesthetics

The art style used is hand-drawn, so everything looks like it was drawn by hand. For the UI, they also use a handwriting-style font, which fits the game's theme nicely. The UX is easy to read as well. Optimization is solid too — the game runs smoothly.

10
3. Story & World

Hmm, there are letters in the game explaining various things, addressed to you as the character. But in terms of story... I don't think there's anything too specific here... Though I could be wrong... 😐

9
4. Audio & Music

Audio... Fine. Music... Not sure. There might be music, but I don't think I actually heard it... Not super enjoyable on that front. But maybe because I was streaming, so I was still having a good time with the game regardless...

7.5
5. Replayability & Value

Hmm... I'm not sure about replayability. It seems like you can replay each area/letter, but personally I don't plan to go back and redo them... Playing through it once feels like enough...

As for the price... 74K IDR at full price, and 67K IDR on sale... Hmm... Okay, but I'm not confident about how much content there is. When I played on stream, the second area showed "Coming Soon," which made me hesitant... Is that really all the content? They do mention on the Steam page that they'll be updating content every other week. So... it might be worth the price after all...

TOTAL SCORE xx

Conclusion

Interesting, and will be a lot of fun if you enjoy mixing and matching combinations and thinking outside the box. This game should also appeal to fans of hand-drawn art styles and casual-themed games.

Quick Review and Rating

Quick Review

Honestly, I requested the key for this game a long time ago and had completely forgotten what it was like. So the first time I played it on stream, it was genuinely my very first exposure to the game. Was it fun? Yes.

Quick Rating

Category & Rating Details Score
1. Mechanics & Gameplay

They recommend playing this game with a gamepad/controller, and it's a blast! Though I can't say what the experience is like with mouse and keyboard. But anyway, the game is fun. The parry feels satisfying and responsive, attacking enemies is enjoyable, and the camera doesn't cause any disorientation, so the overall experience feels great. Also, since this game blends in the Bullet Hell genre, you also have to attack and dodge enemies at range. So it's not just a sword for melee — Ann also assists by shooting enemies that have shields.

In terms of game loop, I personally don't plan to replay individual areas. Once is enough. But that one playthrough was already a good time. Sure... there were plenty of areas I probably didn't fully explore — the areas are absolutely massive and branching. So not everything can always be covered. But it's still fun to explore, collect items, loot, fight enemies, and so on.

10
2. Visuals & Aesthetics

They use an "Anime" art style — similar to Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma. Flashy, colorful, and likely doesn't require the heavy rendering of something like Unreal Engine (?), so it feels lighter to run. But it still looks beautiful and is enjoyable to play...

In terms of optimization... It runs smoothly. I was initially worried — "Will this run well?" — but it ran just fine. I don't remember any stutters while playing. The UI and UX are also clear, though some UI elements feel a bit small.

One small note... Some scenes don't have subtitles, so... it feels like certain information gets lost...

9.3
3. Story & World

Hee... Honestly not sure how to describe this one. But from my understanding, we play as Homura Hime, accompanied by Ann. Our job is to eradicate or exorcise evil before it can be purified. That's it. I've only finished one area so far, so... that's all I can share.

In terms of pacing, it moves along quickly. Exploring, looting, fighting enemies — that took about 30–40 minutes, covering all those vast areas. Fighting the boss... since I was a bit "lacking in skill," that took another 10–20 minutes. So... it feels just right. Not too long and not too short...

10
4. Audio & Music

This section is very enjoyable, hehe. The audio, music, and voice acting in this game are absolutely a treat for the ears. The sound of the sword during a parry, the music during exploration or combat, the voice acting from the various characters... It's all exciting and satisfying.

10
5. Replayability & Value

Hmm, I'm not sure what to say about replayability. Personally, I don't plan on replaying specific areas or levels once I've finished them. So once through and done.

As for the price, full price is 207K IDR, and on sale it can go down to 187K IDR. According to How Long to Beat, the content can run 11–13.5 hours. So... it's worth the price in my opinion. You could argue it's a bit expensive, but it's definitely not too cheap either. If you want to save money, wait for a sale...

10
TOTAL SCORE xx

Conclusion

Highly interesting. I personally plan to finish this game someday, and even though I'm a bit "lacking in skill" when it comes to fighting enemies in this genre, I'm still motivated to keep trying and see it through. Plus the game genuinely feels like watching an anime — with visuals, SFX, music, and voice acting that are a delight for both the eyes and ears.

Quick Review and Rating

Quick Review

Actually, a year ago, I played the demo of this game. It was fun, and I already had a feeling I'd be "interested" — the art style reminded me of Bonte Avond's previous game, Once Upon a Jester.

Quick Rating

Category & Rating Details Score
1. Mechanics & Gameplay

I played this game with a gamepad/controller. And... it's fun. Not disorienting, easy to play and understand. The gameplay is simple — and even though strategy is involved, it's not that difficult. It's like playing chess, but you're just pushing frogs around. Not hard to get your head around at all. Seriously.

The game loop also... isn't hard, and doesn't feel sluggish. Just right. Imagine taking a walk and randomly meeting someone for a quick game of chess on the street. That's about the vibe. Not hard, as long as you know your strategy.

9.5
2. Visuals & Aesthetics

Art style-wise, they use a "Cartoony" style, just like their previous game. Easy on the eyes — like watching a cartoon on TV. UI and UX wise, both the dialogue bubbles, menu text, and everything else are easy to read and understand. The only downside is that some text feels a bit small in the UI... The game is also well optimized, so low-spec devices should be able to run it without any issues.

9.3
3. Story & World

In this game, you play as a character named Bonnie, and the story revolves around her — the main character. There are some conflicts, like an enemy stealing a magical shell, and Bonnie will work to get it back. Light and easy to follow.

10
4. Audio & Music

The audio and music are fine... The only downside is that the music volume sometimes feels too loud? And even when turned down, it still seems loud. Not sure why...

But the thing I genuinely love about this game is the voice acting. Every single conversation in this game is voiced, which makes it a joy to experience and play. It really does feel like watching a cartoon — except you can interact with it, just like a game.

9.3
5. Replayability & Value

This is not the type of game that needs to be replayed, in my opinion — playing through it once feels like enough. So replayability is probably on the lower end.

As for the price, full price is 115K IDR, and on sale it can go down to 98K IDR. For the content on offer, it feels worth the price.

10
TOTAL SCORE xx

Conclusion

Highly interesting. For those of you who enjoy cartoon-style games that are comedic, strategy-based, fully narrated, lighthearted, and easy to follow — you should find this game just as appealing.

Quick Review and Rating

Quick Review

This game... I was supposed to play it on stream, but unfortunately, when I first tested offline whether it would be demanding or not, it was. Heavy. Even when recording offline, it was still demanding. So... I ended up not playing it on stream, and just recorded it offline instead...

Quick Rating

Category & Rating Details Score
1. Mechanics & Gameplay

Hmm... The mechanics of this game can't really be called "simple." They look simple, but there are a LOT of tutorials. And somehow it can be considered complex. While playing, I personally didn't use all the movements shown in the tutorials — just a few. And of all those tutorials, I skipped one because it was too difficult to complete.

As for the gameplay... I actually ended up leaning more toward exploration and not completing the assigned missions 🤣 The game is demanding, but cinematic, and genuinely enjoyable for exploration. You can explore many areas, just riding around on a bike, and there are plenty of trails worth following — or not following. There's also a Chairlifts feature you can use to travel to certain areas. But to "unlock" those areas, you first need to complete that area's trail.

In terms of game loop, it should be quite long, and will be a lot of fun if you enjoy exploration. Will it get boring? Maybe. Since what you're doing is essentially the same thing over and over. But if you love exploring, this game will be a real visual treat.

8.7
2. Visuals & Aesthetics

I... used mostly medium settings, with FSR Balanced. It's enjoyable, and feels sufficient. Not as crisp and detailed as it would be without FSR, but still pleasant to look at.

Unfortunately, the game remains heavy while running. There were many moments where my CPU and GPU were spiking to 127%, or 100%. As a result, the experience while playing felt uncomfortable. This is actually the main reason I didn't end up playing this game on stream. I was more worried about my stream crashing and making for an unpleasant viewing experience for my audience, given how long my streams tend to run...

UI and UX-wise, everything is clear and easy to understand. Like most racing games, the UI is designed to deliver information to the player quickly.

8
3. Story & World

In this game, you play the role of a cyclist, and your coach is Matt Jones himself. Throughout the tutorials, you'll be taught how to ride a racing bike correctly, how to pull off various tricks, and so on. Not hard to follow at all.

9
4. Audio & Music

The audio, music, and voice acting/narration are all solid. The SFX and ambience feel just right... The music is also enjoyable — like actually listening to a radio — and Matt Jones's narration comes through clearly. It genuinely sounds like hearing someone over a Walkie Talkie.

9
5. Replayability & Value

Like I said. If you enjoy exploration and don't mind setting aside the missions, replayability will be high — since you're free to do whatever you want in this game. Like being given the freedom to explore endless hills, without having to think about how to pay tomorrow's bills, debts, food, water, and sleep.

As for the price, full price is 300K IDR, and on sale it can go down to 180K IDR. The full price is quite steep, so it's probably best to wait for a discount before buying...

8.5
TOTAL SCORE xx

Conclusion

Interesting. As long as you're not too fixated on the missions. Well... you can focus on the missions, I'm not stopping you. But if you're looking for a game to just unwind... explore... virtually roam the hillsides... this game should be a genuinely enjoyable audio-visual experience...

Quick Review and Rating

Quick Review

This is one of several demos I tried playing over the past few weeks... While dealing with financial stress like I am right now... Would it be fun?

Quick Rating

Category & Rating Details Score
1. Mechanics & Gameplay

The mechanics are straightforward. The controls really just require walking... By walking, you can attack enemies, push items, collect items, and so on. Literally, just walking makes progress. Because of that, it's easy to understand and enjoyable to get into.

As for the game loop, it can't be called long or short. Because each run depends on how well you can survive out there. If you can hold out against enemy attacks for a long time, it can stretch out — but if not... you'll die quickly.

9
2. Visuals & Aesthetics

This game uses a Cartoony art style, and the text seems to be in Calibri. Does it look bad? No. It's actually easy to read and doesn't seem heavy to render. So the game runs nice and smoothly without any performance issues.

My note would be about the text translation. Sometimes there are descriptions I had to read a few times to understand — because they can come across as beneficial when they're actually not. Also the Codex section. Ideally you'd be able to read the full description before upgrading. Unfortunately, once you click, the upgrade is purchased immediately, without knowing whether it's actually good or not.

9
3. Story & World

You — the main character, the Demon Lord — have died, and are now reborn. Wait, that's how it goes, right? Anyway. Since everything has been destroyed and the kingdom is gone, to exact revenge, you must explore the area to find followers scattered across various locations, and seek out the "calling" from deep within this forest. That's roughly the gist of it...

9
4. Audio & Music

The audio and music are fine. No voice acting unfortunately. But from an audio and music standpoint, it does enough to entertain the player's ears...

8.5
5. Replayability & Value

Replayability is high. You can play it multiple times if you want, and if you die, you can use the "Soul" or "Coins" you've collected to upgrade your abilities in the kingdom.

I can't comment on the price, since I played this game while it was still in demo...

8
TOTAL SCORE xx

Conclusion

Pretty fun. For a casual roguelike action-adventure game, this one is enjoyable. Hopefully when the full version launches it'll be just as good...

Quick Review and Rating

Quick Review

Another demo I played while my mind has been preoccupied with financial stress like it has been lately... Cat-themed, with puzzle elements... Would it be fun?

Quick Rating

Category & Rating Details Score
1. Mechanics & Gameplay

This is a point and click + hidden object + puzzle game. Except... rather than the typical 2D flat image format, here you actively explore every area, corner, and path to find the cats and items you're asked to locate. The game might remind people of Viewfinder, since the mechanic is similar. The game loop is also short — not too long, as long as you can complete the quests quickly. Not difficult either, though some items are genuinely well hidden, given that the game's color palette is mostly black and white. One note — I didn't play the demo for long, since I was very hungry, and first-person games like this can trigger motion sickness, so to avoid feeling nauseous I stopped my gameplay around the 28-minute mark.

9
2. Visuals & Aesthetics

As mentioned above, the game's color palette is mostly black and white. Probably to make the items you're looking for stand out more easily. As for the art style, they use a stylized approach — possibly mixed with surreal elements? Because the UI and items are arranged as if we've come from the future into the past, yet with modern technology reflecting the present era. Optimization is also great. FPS is stable, and CPU, GPU, vRAM, and RAM are all stable.

10
3. Story & World

Honestly I don't remember whether there was an intro story or not, or how we ended up in this world. But you'll be playing a character guided by a panel on the left side of the screen, as well as the in-game journal. There's plenty of info — quests, items you've collected, settings, and so on.

8
4. Audio & Music

Audio and music are fine. Nothing felt distracting while I was playing. Though this game is very... quiet, aside from the sound of cats.

9
5. Replayability & Value

Hmm... This feels like the type of game that's best done once. Once you've found all the items, you're done. No need to replay the quests. You could go back for 100% completion since there's no penalty system, but I'd personally just play it through once. As for the price, I can't comment yet since it's still in demo at this point.

8
TOTAL SCORE xx

Conclusion

Interesting, if you're looking for a point and click + hidden object + puzzle game with a first-person perspective. Oh, and if you enjoy Viewfinder, you might like this one too, since the mechanic is the same.
